Key Components of Senior Curriculum in Each Learning Area

Language: It focuses on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills along with development of effective communication skills. It also aims to promote advanced language skills in order to develop skills of reasoning and drawing inferences through meaningful activities.

Humanities: It includes the learning of history and culture, geographical environment, global institutions, human nature and social compatibility, constitutional values and norms, politics, economy, interpersonal and societal interactions, civic responsibilities, and the incorporation of the above-mentioned learning into one's life.

Science and Technology: The thrust and objective is on imparting knowledge and skills that are necessary to develop scientific attitude, subsequent use and application of such knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life and further using this learning to analyse, evaluate, synthesise, create, invent and discover.

Mathematics: It includes acquiring the concepts related to number sense, operation sense, computation, measurement, geometry, probability and statistics, the skill to calculate and organize, and the ability to apply this knowledge and the acquired skills in their daily life. It also includes understanding of the principles of reasoning and problem solving.

Commerce: It includes gaining understanding about core business disciplines like the exchange of items of value or products between persons or companies and any such exchange of money for a product, service, or information is considered a deal of commerce.

Health and Physical Education: It aims for holistic development both in the mental and physical domains. The focus of this curriculum is to help learners develop a positive attitude and commitment to lifelong healthy and active living along with the capacity to live satisfying, productive lives with the help of proper health management, sports, fitness and lifestyle choices.

General Studies: It aims to integrate the learning process with their day to day life and to keep the students update and aware of their surroundings.
